Abstract

This paper describes the current enotourism situation in the province of Jujuy. It intends to be a contribution to the necessary analysis that must be carried out to consider the implementation of enotourism as a provincial strategy. From a socio-historical perspective, the voices of winemakers and provincial winegrowing referents are recovered. Likewise, by promoting wine culture in the province, enotourism revives the practices and meanings of the agents involved in wine production. And it is constituted as a space for experiences in sustainability. The present work raises the need for comprehensive planning, and is expressed in the existing relationship between agents, territory and environment, central spaces and areas in the complementation of enotourism and the sustainable paradigm. The increase of wine production in Jujuy is notorious, with unique characteristics that give the wines of the Quebrada senses that express the authenticity of the region, as well as the growth of tourism, as the north of the province represents the main centre of reception of tourists and visitors. Bearing in mind that wine production and tourism still follow different paths in Jujuy, both phenomena should be considered from an integral perspective with factors in favour and against, and they should find meeting points for local development. The proposal of this analysis comes at a propitious time to produce contributions to be considered in the different spaces of public and private management to plan the development of future wine tourism implementations.
