Abstract

The program “Nutriscience on the air” created by the San Salvador Academic Department (DASS) of the Catholic University of Santiago del Estero (UCSE), aims to disseminate research on food and nutrition. This initiative, broadcasted by Radio Santa María during the first four-month period of 2024, counted with the participation of teachers and students of the Nutrition career. Each episode, structured in three blocks, presents research articles and interviews with their authors, addressing topics of interest such as food quality in gastronomic tourism in Jujuy, body diversity in the supply of clothing sizes, eating habits of university students and consumption of ultra-processed food among teachers.

The program also includes discussions on health-related anniversaries, providing a dynamic and educational perspective. Thanks to this platform, the link between the university and the community was strengthened, promoting the importance of evidence-based nutrition. For the students, “Nutriscience on the air” represented an enriching experience, combining scientific communication with academic training and social commitment.
