REFLECTIONS ON MOTHERS OF CHILDREN VICTIMS OF CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE

From a gender perspective

Abstract

This writing is a deliberation essay that seeks to make a general approximation to Child Sexual Abuse (ASI, Abuso Sexual Infantil), understanding it as a form of child abuse with clear connotations of abuse of power. In particular, it aims to problematize the existing social representations of women who are mothers of children victims of sexual abuse, identifying that the central place that the mother image holds in the culture is that of the person responsible for care tasks of their children. It causes the woman to be the frequent object of a little comprehensive scrutiny in the problem of ASI. These approaches and concerns are intersected by a Gender Perspective that will allow us to question and illuminate the ASI; that is, we will identify "the consequences and implications of belonging to each sex" (Gamboa S, 2018, page 2) by being immersed in this social problem.
