Abstract

This publication starts from a standpoint where concepts and approaches from Social Work about the social economy and the contributions of the feminist economy are exposed. Discern between paid and unpaid work becomes impossible when trying to comprehend the experience of street vendor women with their children on their backs, who work ten, twelve or even more hours a day, and expose themselves on the street and have to live under the dilemma: "If I do not work, I do not eat.”

The recurring question of the experience of living in the territory is: What notions of work do we handle to account for these various stories? There are different incomprehensible realities with the same concepts and methodologies. The situated-knowledge contributions open new inquiries to understanding categories under discussion, such as precariousness-inequality-gender-poverty.
