Abstract

The university syllabus is an essential component in the academic training of students and future professionals, as it defines the objectives, content, methodologies, and assessments that guide their learning process. However, significant differences exist between the designed syllabus and the syllabus in use.

This essay aims to comparatively analyze both types of syllabus in the Tourism Quality Management course of the Tourism Program at the National University of Jujuy, exploring the transformations that occur in its components when put into practice.

Since 2021, the pedagogical proposal implemented by the course team seeks to strengthen the use and appropriation of digital skills and competencies. This enables students to integrate the development of each thematic unit through the analysis, information search, and data collection from the local and regional tourism field in the Province of Jujuy.

However, there are significant differences between what is planned and what is implemented in actual curricular practices. Therefore, this study aims to document relevant aspects, processes, and results, identifying which components of the designed and enacted syllabus show strengths and difficulties.

Lastly, the essay offers reflections and a superior proposal that integrates theory and practice, promotes experiential learning, and meets the competencies, scope, and profile of graduates as outlined in the program's study plan.

These contributions are expected to improve the curricular program and assist the course team, providing a valuable tool for the training of quality management professionals in the local and regional tourism sector.
