Abstract

The present article aims to explain the use of interactive documentaries as a didactic resource in higher education. At first, a descriptive study was carried out to explore its use based on the user experience according to type and mode of interaction. The results were used for application in an academic context with first-year university students. The I-Doc constitutes a semiotic tool framed within an active teaching methodology, integrated into activities that promote the construction of research questions, information research, and academic writing. In this second phase, the objective is to evaluate the relationship between the use of the I-Doc as a didactic resource and the promotion of complex skills such as critical thinking, autonomy, academic writing, application of concepts to real cases, motivation for studying, and active participation. The I-Doc is a form of knowledge production that allows the involvement of the subject in the construction of knowledge based on the own experience, getting a higher level of autonomy in academic learning.
