Abstract

In this paper, we share the results of research developed in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic that led us to re-think virtual educational spaces as new digital scenarios based on the representations of university students about these educational practices. We started questioning ourselves about the impact that Information and Communication Technologies produced on the learning process during times of the COVID-19 pandemic. We focused our study on students of the Public Accounting career of the San Salvador Academic Department of the Catholic University of Santiago del Estero. The research was approached from a positivist paradigm, adopting a quantitative approach. We collected the information through self-administered questionnaires that allowed us to investigate the degree of access to ICTs that students possessed, recognize the tools or platforms of most frequent use and analyze the degree of satisfaction/dissatisfaction concerning the didactic resources proposed by teachers for virtual environments.

The results allowed us to comprehend and reflect on students' accessibility and appropriation of ICTs and the need to generate innovative proposals that contribute to optimizing digital skills.
